I don't think the Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raiders are that good either, and I dislike the 2013 reboot. I don't see myself going back to TR1 or playing the immediate sequels because the pacing is just so insultingly slow. Watch Lara climb up ledges and hop backwards. Line up jumps and then do them and feel absolutely no joy at all. Shoot enemies while running in circles. I like the atmosphere and the aesthetics but the core designheh is just not good and doesn't make for interesting gameplay.
