How do I get rid of this piece of shit and go DRM-free? Does anybody here do this?
just buy games on GoG and tell no one about it, otherwise youre just a pretentious faggot
either that or pirate everything, but for christ's sake quit fucking whining

Stop feeding them money. The problem will solve itself eventually.
>>376887518
>pirate everything
this, if you still want to pay then either go physical which requires you to get a drive or just fuck off
>>376886976
You're obviously retarded so just go buy air on GoG along with the rest of the dumbfucks paying for literal torrent repacks.

this
People still don't understand the purpose of Steam? It's such a shame it has to be running while playing a game but damn it makes things easier.
I don't know about anyone else but it was always a pain in the ass to download patches, install them, and find out there are more patches, or that you need another file from a server that was down or had a painfully low download speed.
Paying full price for a permission to play and download a game sounds stupid, but Steam is not going anywhere and even when games disappear from the store you can still download them.
Let's not start with piracy and the constant struggle to find cracks, patches, and most of the time not being able to play online multiplayer.

Buy on GoG what you can.
>>376887909
You know they fix the games to run on newer hardware?
>>376888870
Yes by including the community-made patchfixes
>>376887896
you do realise that even if you buy physical copy of the game, most of the time you have to install it on steam anyway, right?

Not genuinely appreciating Steam is a meme. PC gaming would have been dead many, many years ago if it wasn't solely thanks to Steam as a games distributing service for PC.
>by far the most convenient place to buy any pc game
>the best library of collecting games, sorting them and keeping them in track, also third party sites can track your backlog progress making it easy to keep track of that
>has consistently very fast download speeds of everything but maybe day 1 releases, nothing even comes close from other sites or pirating
>gets "DRM" memed because people can't be lazy to set it to auto starting
>has the best, most user friendly friends list- and community system available on any game platform, and since anyone who's into pc gaming will be using it anyway, lets you use it as a literal facebook for videogames if you need it to
>or you could just not add people and not care at all, just don't be an idiot

Also fucking this. Almost every retail game out there requires Steam to be played either way these days. The included DVDs do little more than let you install games a little faster, but you'll almost never be able to just play the game through a DVD anymore - just buckle up with that included and forced Steam key.
>>376889983
why do you say that like it's a bad thing?
>>376890734
on GOG, you pay for torrents
on Steam, you pay for infinite licenses
>>376888870
ironically for FlatOut (2004) even for GOG version you have to download a cracked executable that's stripped of DRM that won't run on Winders 10
>>376887909
the official executable for steam version of gta iv is Razor1911 crack, at least it used to be that way, it even included the ascii art
