it's my favourite yoshi game.

everyone loves yoshi's island and shit on every subsequent game because it's not the snes original (even though they all seem similar to me).

yoshi's story is its own thing though. truly unique and confidently delivered.

It's just a very underwhelming game.
You can unlock everything in like 20 minutes
The only way to get some bulk out of it is to do all-melon runs which in themselves feel pointless because there's no rewards for high scores or getting all melons.

Third best Yoshi after SNES and Woolly World.

Yeah its ridiculously easy, but at least it tried something new and did it competently.

Yoshi's story is shitty as fuck no matter how you play it. If you play it normally it's ridiculous easy and they just plainly fucked up with the level system. If you play all melons only you will get as ridiculous slug of a game where you need to use the shitty sniff mechanic troughout entire levels.
