I liked the combat in Tera and BnS. Keeps me awake compared to tab-target and rotation away combat.
Too bad both hare korean grinding f2p p2w shit.
Tera still having fps issues because the hud is run in flash and somehow optimization has gotton worse over time which i have no idea how that happens or maybe i'm going crazy.
BnS is kill cause of p2w and even worse balance issues in pvp and pve scene is non existant.
Seriously, who thought making an mmo on unreal engine was a good idea?

Mabinogi's always been billed as a "fantasy life" sim. From the early days, combat has never really been the biggest focus.

The combat is fun, but god damn it's really unbalanced. Before they actually gave a shit to fix it, defense meant fuck all. Either enemies would one shot you, or you'd one shot them. It really depended on how much money you spent to rebirth and increase your skills. You absolutely needed to invest in life skills to increase your stats, which meant spending more money.

The problem with the updates now is that stats are in overabundance. Rebirthing is free, AP is given out like candy, and there are very few restrictions when it comes to skills. Power levels are off the god damn charts, pet spam is a legitimate and common strategy, and there are too many skills that monsters simply can't react to because of poor AI programming (as you mentioned). The devs started giving each monster some type of super armor as a "solution" but it just really drags the game down. Or they just spawn in large groups.

IMO, the game peaked when fighter launched, even though it was buggy as fuck.

Problem with Imagine was that a lot of later content was reliant on the grindy-as-fuck Digitalize and P2W Intense Breaks along with not much solo-Lv90 content outside of Destiny and events. Imagine was already grindy as far as trying to get good gear and expertise for your DB and doing Wildcats to strengthen and rebirth your demons and eventually Mitama Fusing them.
