Hanna's Departure

That arsehole is one of the hardest bosses in the game. Really though the first three bosses are harder than anything else you'll fight (Bogimoray really isn't that difficult provided you got the Anti-Paralysis broach). That fucking soldier fight over Phil and Lil's flowers, I mean Jesus fucking Christ.

Anyway have Kaim and Seth block it out and have Jansen in the back casting magic.

Lost Odyssey is a fucking feels trip, but when it comes to gameplay it has a real bad habit of difficulty spikes on bosses. No one I've ever talked to about this game was prepared for the fight with the knights in the garden.

Literally every boss is so out of depth compared to the shit that you fight in random encounters in the area.

It's criminal that I left this game untouched for so long. I saw it for years in EB just sitting there not paying it any attention and then I look up videos and shit and it's got some of the most compelling characters in any game. How the guy who voiced Jansen hasn't got any work since then is beyond me, he was fucking brilliant. Shows just how much of a farce this voice actors strike is if complete nobodies outperform industry veterans.

That was the only fight in the game I had to grind for. It was so out of left field that a bunch of horny chump knights that you'd fought about a million of up until this point were one of the toughest bosses in the game.

Delete this. I was stuck there for 2 days.

I just found it funny how games like LO and Blue Dragon sat in Gamestops for years for under 10 dollars used, but as soon as they got wind that they became backward compatible they shot up to 20 some bucks.
Luckily I bought both of them a few weeks before they became BC as I was on a 360 games kick.

I'm never going to find Ghostbusters for cheap now though. Even used copies are near 40 bucks.

That DLC fight was so horse shit it was ridiculous. Unlike everything else you had to follow a very specific and esoteric strategy to the t otherwise you get slaughtered.

On the subject of the DLC it's clear that they hated releasing it separately from the game, hence why they discounted it to a fucking dollar. It certainly wasn't worth $5 for some identical rooms and a bonus boss.

I have to say, Gongora was a fantastic villain in this game. His laughs were always wonderfully evil.

It's like Nier. Bargain bin game for years but as soon as Automata got announced RARE GAME $50 :). Mind you, you can still get it cheap at EB if you can find a copy. Worst thing is it's just the PS3 version of the game that's expensive. I was trying to get the PS3 version recently after 1000 G'ing the 360 version (wanna do it all over again for the Platinum trophy because I hate myself) and it's so much more expensive despite being the worse version of the game. I mean I've seen it go for more than fucking Replicant goes for. GOt lucky that EB had a copy on their website for like $18. Anyway don't mean to ramble on about another game but fuck ebay scabs, man. They are the lowest forms of human life.

I liked the fact that most of the bosses in the game were like puzzles and had specific ways to beat them. Was a breath of fresh air for the genre.

You have to use the break system or qhatever it's called, the meter in the top right. Have 2 people up front blocking. Also, if he does his aoe twice in a row, you just fucking lose, which happens way too often. It also helps to grind until you get to the point where it would take like 200 normal fights to level. I don't remember what level that point is, I think 12 or 13, but there's a very clear jump. It's the 2nd hardest boss in the game. It's just bad game design, plain and simple. The rest of the game is incredible, though, so don't let it turn you away, it's worth the grind.

Hands down THE best JRPG protagonist in any game.
The English version is what they based the lip synching on, so imagining those Nips trying to animate all of the ad-libbing his voice actor did is an amusing thought. The lip-synching in general is excellent and really gives the more emotional scenes in the game that added weight. How we've gone from that game to the shitty fucking Tales games STILL just being flapping gums and everyone else not even bothering animating mouths anymore and just having anime stills pasted over the game for cutscenes really pisses me the fuck off. I mean yes Microsoft did fund this game but come on people put in a bit more effort.

I bought my 360 in 2006 and owned it for years. I sold it because at some point it stopped having any worthwhile releases and since I owned a PC the multiplats became redundant. There was no reason to keep it aside from a few exclusives. I still own my PS1, Sega Saturn, N64, SNES, etc. because they are worth keeping around.
