Anyone else this series has pretty good villians?
>>376847046
Yes, I also this series has pretty good villians.
>>376847046
yeah tales usually has strong villains that are well-intentioned extremists. With a few exceptions, they would actually improve the world if they won and arent just doing it for muh power its just their actions getting their might be fucked.
The only antagonists I don't like are lambda and heldelf, pretty much all of them range from good to great otherwise.
>>376847046
Because most of them are introduced into the plot from early on. Plus Tales always likes to play to with the "who is really in the wrong here" thing.

Gaius was a horrible antagonist. He had no reason to go full retard. Victim of being in a rushed game.

This.
>Gaius: HURR DURR I'M GONNA KILL EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE OTHER WORLD TO SAVE MINE
Thank god for ToX2 they made him good.

The worst thing about it is that his character is built up to be that he doesn't try, he does.
He spends 3 minutes staring at spyrites before he decides, "This shit's never going to work. I'm giving up on these people."
>>376849049
To be fair X1 was rushed as fuck.
They planned to make Gaius and Muzet Playable
>>376845368
Every time I had to deal with that faggot Chronos
>>376845368
So was he their actual father, or was he merely an uncle with good/horrendous intentions? He wanted to save mankind, by force.

>sequel dismisses previous games' issues
Bisley needed some serious retconning in world building and forced plot devices in order to be right.
