Yes, the game will likely be heavily optimized for handheld mode but ultimately developing for the Switch is NOT like developing for the Wii U. It's significantly more expensive.

Even if they just wanted to shit out a cash grab, which they wouldn't do to their biggest brand, it'd cost to much to develop a Pokemon Switch game to not have it be full-price.

Black 2 and White 2 came out on DS a full year after the 3DS came out.

I'd agree if it wasn't for Sun/Moon doing jack shit with 3d and clearly disregarding it as a feature. Hell they backtracked from X/Y in that regard. It felt like they were already looking forwards to another console.

They're advertising Marshadow and Necrozma in the same movie coming up. They've blown their kid on this generation and it hasn't even been a year. Gen VIII on the Switch is more likely at this point.
