I picked up Legends from the PSN sale, finally. Never played it even though I loved Origins and consider myself a Rayman fan; the Murphy bits seemed notorious at the time of release. But so far, three worlds in, I don't find them bothersome. Game is still fantastic, and there are no loading times. My only complaint is all the reskinned unlockable characters. Wish they were more different from each other.

Also, the platinum trophy looks like a pain in the ass--need to beat a friend's high score thirty times.

This is a bizarre myth. It has at most 40% of the levels from Legends. It doesn't have the second half of the game aside from Mystic Peak.

Hated how they neutered the Origins levels in Legends but they're both fantastic games. Platinumed and full g'ed Origins and Legends on every available console barring the PS3 version of Legends (retarded save wiping. Option to continue doesn't appear sometimes and pressing New Game ONCE by accident completely overwrites your save) as well as the Xbone version of it. Vita version of Legends is awful though. Fucking half the game is an autoscroller.

I was the reverse. Got the Vita one, was disgusted by it and heard the Wii U version was the same and therefore intended version. Every fucking time control got taken away with an "Over to you, Murfy" I wanted to smack that fucking frog who developed this game. Doesn't help that the AI is beyond retarded in those sections. How the ports wound up being better than the intended version of the game is beyond me.

Because it was designed for nintendos gimmicks, which were very similar to mobile casual stuff. No one seriously wanted to drag their fingers on a screen to play a console game. Tapping B or circle and getting on with the action is, imo, the true intended way of playing it. We must also think this was in 2013, when the wii u had nothing but the biggest of drones were slinging everything they could to make it seem like the best console in existence

I think I should mention the origin levels are like diet versions of their former selves. Through out all of legends I thought the level design was easier than origins and I was disappointed when I was proven right by the origin levels. They had enemies missing, less hazards, and in general more space between hazards.

The engine is being criminally neglected. I was turned off by some of the Flash-tier animation in Origins, Child of Light, and Valiant Hearts, but Legends proves that you can do a lot with the engine. It's up there with Vanillaware I think.
