I'd say the same. For an origin story it was bretty nice, I didn't mind the artstyle, and it had a decently memorable (major) cast.

But god damn, the repetition and revisiting areas were sort of bothersome. Maybe I'm ass-backwards from liking Skyward Sword from presentation alone, but I think combined with the orchestral music it's certainly survivable.

To be honest I really didn't like the soundtrack at first but I don't know why it has started to grow on me after a few hours.

I'm still not a huge fan of the vocals in Black Tar or in the song that plays when you're flying with your mech (doesn't help that the song reboot everytime you land and fly again). But the song of Primordia, and the other regions are perfect.

Using the stick for you maneuvers was the best decision for games great control scheme, it was easy and comfortable to do, you could do the moves consistently and quickly, and you never had to change the position of your hands so they could stay steady for aiming. Since there are only 4 shoulder buttons and 4 moves+shooting at least 1 face button, or god forgive clickable stick, would have had to be used otherwise. I can only imagine how bad it would be if they mapped aiming to the control stick and you had to claw to do boosts.

Thats a legit enough complaint, I can see people having problems with accidentally inputting diagonals depending on the stick depending on how they're comfortable holding the controller and what angle their thumbs are at. I don't agree that buttons are without their own problems and potential miss inputs, from things like hitting two buttons at once. Nor do I believe they are strictly better because having every move available from one thumb position saves a little time and how different the movements your thumbs do for each move is lessens the chance of doing the wrong move or having to look at the buttons for newer and younger players while also having less repetitive motions for longer play sessions.

I didn't mind or at least care for that but if it added some variety, they could have had the second or third revisitations take place in the past. Land could have looked different, and going to a fully int he past Lanayru desert could have been beautiful.

Pic related takes the cake. It had depth and lore almost as good as Skyrim, and, unlike Skyrim, an excellent combat system and the "reckoning" mode was unique and legitimately useful, plus it was really satisfying to pull off (even with that fucking QTE).

Only minor issue is that the game was far too easy, but that might not even be a bad thing when you look at it plotwise. You're le generic unnamed savior of the world #50000 but being able to kill everything effortlessly and sponge up attacks left and right actually makes you feel like the badass you're canically supposed to be.

Even with that justification, the lack of challenge was pretty ridiculous. I'm not particularly good at these kind of games (never beaten a Souls game without giving up on it), but I was able to kill the final boss on my first try on the hardest of the three difficulty.

Honorable mentions go to MGSV and quite a few Ubisoft games (AC Unity, Syndicate, Watch Dogs 2, and FC3 and 4)

Depends, if "boring turn based garbage" just means turn based then you probably won't like it but it's actually a pretty unique system and I was glad to see that P5 took from it with one of the confidants.
Combat is fairly streamlined and is over pretty quickly with the exception of a few bosses because you have constant access to your entire party and can switch them in and out on a whim.

Story, music and environments are 10/10 though.

Then a power outage shut off my computer while I was playing. Now I can't explore a planet or head to a new planet without triggering a fatal error. Holy shit, I was just watching Spoony's review of FFX a few days ago. He made a lot of valid points about the game sucking, but him bitching about how illogical Blitzball is for 5 minutes was ridiculous.

Well the story seems nice and I would like to play it with PROPER controls. I fail at wobbling the Wii mote around. I failed so badly at flying the bird. I can't maneuver shit. Really the Wii mote was a bad idea and ruins every game on the Wii but RE4.
