I'm conflicted about the idea of artificial difficulty becoming more known because on one hand, it is a real thing that exists. A lot of older games were difficult for a variety of reasons such as being modeled after arcade games designed to suck quarters from your pocket or being a lasting challenge for kids who only got one or so game a year. Most modern devs looking to cash in on nostalgia tend to miss the point and use the difficulty as a selling point, and often times it leads to a game just being about muscle memory and attrition.
Another issue is with RPGs doing this. I consider SMT my favourite game series of all time, but some of the games are just obtuse for no real reason other than that's what they're known for. Even the dumbest dummy can get past a hard boss in SMT if they get lucky or just grind rather than learning how to play. When people call that artificial difficulty, I tend to agree.
On the other hand dumbasses tend to use it to describe anything they can't immediately succeed at and meme it to hell and back.

Artificial difficulty isn't real heres why:
Game choice aside, skyrim on very easy compared to legendary difficulty are two completely different games, One is a game i could give to my grandmother and she would be able to complete the game without ever opening up the level up menu and would be able to kill alduin with an iron shortsword she found at the first level.

Legendary difficulty would be the actual rpg were you make choices on how to build your character, you plan a build ahead and fights take long enough so that you would actually see all monster attacks and not just be oneshotting them before they even get a chance to react.

Skyrim may be a bad choice of game but it's one that came to mind since i always played it on the hardest difficulty and I feel like i legit got a better experience and much more time out of the game because of it, when it was popular and I went on twitch seeing normies play it on very easy it was like I was watching one of those dumbass cinematic walking simulator games, it was just so different and brain dead I couldn't believe people enjoyed playing like that.

The only pirates I have anything against are the ones that use some moral highground excuse. I'm pirating Sims 4 as we speak - because I'm just downloading it for sex mods and don't want to spend any money on it, not because I don't think EA deserves my money or I think their DLC practices are scummy or whatever. I just want it for free because I don't feel like spending money.

I only have a problem with piracy when the game is legitimately good and it's easily obtainable for them.

If you're a first worlder who HAS $60 to spare on game of the generation, Nier Automata, and you don't because reasons there's not an excuse. Why not support good games to get more and send devs a message?

In third person games, I never have an issue with the camera. The only time I ever cite the camera as an issue is when the field of view is too tiny to track someone near you in a first person game (see: every Bungie game).
