I always enjoyed it. I love the dreamlike atmosphere and the ability to morph into different creatures at will. I really don't see whats so fucking tedious about it and why /v/ has made it into a meme.

Same with deep roads. If they weren't so long and painful you wouldn't actually feel like you're exploring this massive underground cave system. This is basic game design. Just like how an enemy doesn't feel imposing unless it's actually dangerous. After deep roads you feel like you actually accomplished something major.

Git gud. It's not hard or long. It reminds me of points in some DnD campaigns I've played where I had to get through a weird, tough scenario to get back to the original flow.
