technically retro. it's not even old enough to be considered vintage and certainly nowhere near as old to be antiques.

and by the time they change into vintage items the likelihood of them working at all is low, so may as well play them.

I get people wanting to use the original hardware for accuracy, but this just an emulator, it gives you the problems of emulation with the drawbacks of using original hardware, there's no point on it other than being "nerdy"

Does it have an SD card slot? If not, what's the point?

Never buy a retron. Their input lag makes NES games unplayable bc they are unforgiving. Get yourself a raspberry pi 3 or even a pi 0 if you only intent to play NES. And get a usb/bluetooth NES controller with it.
