Just played my first round since 2014. How is this game so fucking fun? It's the definition of emergent gameplay.

Someone explain to me what Space Station 13 is even about in 15 words or less. I've got a friend who's playing like every day of his life and I have no fucking idea what he's ever talking about.

I inly ever played one round where I wandered around until I found bodies, took a riot baton from a chest, and ended up finding the wizard killing everyone on the bridge. I hit him and promptly exploded, but stunned him and allowed the captain to finish him off

I want a casualized remake of SS13 because while I understand the basics of the gameplay and can pretty much do anything given enough time to figure out how the gears turn, I just cannot get over how clunky and bad everything feels. It takes me hours to learn new things that any other game you'd be able to pick up in minutes. I know some indie dev out there could be make a SS13 that's more user-friendly (Think RimWorld vs. Dwarf Fortress) without sacrificing TOO much of the depth.

It's a job simulator. You're just a guy, showing up to work to do a shift on a space station, be it a botanist growing plants, chemist making pills, cargo tech delivering boxes or a sec officer patrollin' the halls.

A few of the crew however are traitors with their own special objectives, to steal something, to kill someone, to spread the word of their cult or to absorb the DNA and shape shift into other members of the crew. Fun ensues.

Also stop making these threads on /v/, it always shits up the servers with shitters for a few days when a thread gets posted.

Usually if you just play as Assistant and go somewhere isolated to learn the controls, you should be fine.

It might even be a good idea to ahelp the mods at the beginning of the round, letting them know that you're new. Some good mods will give you tips if there's not much going on in the round.

i remember something similar happening exept one of us used the wishgranter and become unkillable dragon god. (basically would resurrect like a ling after 10 secs or so after being killed)
