I disagree, IMO, it goes

2 > ODST > Reach > 3 > CE > 4 = 5

3 is pretty overrated, but CE even moreso. It's very flawed, but people ignore those flaws because they were due to it';s age, but the flaws being excusable doesn't mean they aren't there.

I'd even go as far as to say that 4's missions are better then CE's on average,in fact, 4 is pretty much just CE redux, it just has a fucking garbage awful story.

the first artbook explains this. They basically felt that in CE, the pistol acted like a rifle, and the assualt rifle acted like an SMG, so they made it so in 2 you actually had a rifle, a pistol, and SMG that acted like they should.

I was excited to see THE best Halo book animated and they fucked it up... except for the scene where they undergo their genetic therepy, that was well done.
