Revan's war on the Republic was one with the intention to conquer and direct the Republic towards the greater threat of the true Sith, after he came to his senses from being controlled by the Emperor.

That was Nu-Bioware's retcon.

In the original story Revan saw a terrifying threat in the Unknown Regions, and set about seizing the Republic so he could ensure it was strong enough to protect itself from the True Sith. He wasn't exactly Dark or Light.

They are good games, i would tell you to pirate them but most of the public trackers i know don't have the game updated. You could always install the patches and fixes by yourself though.

This is almost exatly what i'm trying to say. There are KOTOR games with their own statements. There are TOR. Since there's something on TOR, that goes against KOTOR, we can say, that TOR is not canon, since it violates original.
Otherwise there would be such an example, where, for example, after retcon for some MMO Vader also kills Luk, and because of that we would change canonical ending of cinema to new one.
