The lack of disclosure concerning any kind of novel additions to the game, including SE being so tight-lipped about the combat changes, coupled with the lack of a new race and the fact we're only getting 2 new jobs suggests they're just not trying anymore (and not even trying to hide it).
I'm still invested in the story, but I'm sick of the content trickle and have washed my hands of the abysmal raiding scene; the minimum you can subscribe for is a month, and I suspect I'll need to wait until 4.4 until there's enough content to justify that.

The 3.55 story ended on a bung-note.
Instead of 3 new jobs we're only getting 2.
SE hasn't announced any kind of new content aside from swimming, which is irrelevant except for gatherers and the ERP community.
And on top of all that there's no new race.

Surely by not including a new race and a third job there's a surplus of labour available? Where is that effort being invested? Why am I paying more for this expansion when it's bringing nothing new to the table, and somehow less of the derivative content we're used to?

This is a pretty real set of concerns to have, going into HW we had a new race, and 3 new jobs. Stormblood apparently has more money behind it, but we have no new race, and one less new job. The only thing it has up front that HW didn't is a new housing area. You could argue swimming, but that's pretty much just flying but slower. And while housing is nice, it's not core content.

We're like a month away from launch and there's really no indication that content wise there will be anything different or improved from HW, and for those that were around from HW-launch, it's worrying.

I just quit today. The playerbase sucks SE's dick so much that they defend jump potions and the situation that caused them. They pretty much just told me "lmao deal with it shit happens". How you can defend lazy cash-grabs and horrible design choices is beyond me. The moment I learned that you HAVE to do the 80-100 hours of ARR to even touch HW I knew there was a problem. Jump potions don't even fix it, it just them going "lmao grind for 140 hours in ARR and HW or pay us. Don't forget those job potions too, goy".

On top of that why the fuck isn't leveling via PvP an option? You already can hit 60 in PotD, putting a training mode for PvP then giving it exp equal to PotD would be amazing. FATEs are fucking shit and dead and running the same fucking dungeon for 2-3 levels is cancer along with the mindless PotD grind. That coupled with the horrific job design choices like "lmao impulse drive until 26" or "lmao shield oath level 40" I'm amazed I didn't quit early on. Entire game is nothing but trying to reel in whales and milk them via retainers, fantasia potions, glamours, mounts, emotes, and dances. Pure cancer. I'm completely done with MMO's now since SE cured my obsession with them.

Played 2-3 weeks in free trial and got all jobs to 30 with most crafting/gather to 20+. Played as an old Hyur with gray hair. It was rough in the start but I had fine in the middle but the final straw was how everyone was defending SE and never criticizing them. Even people who never spoke in my FC spoke to defend them. Wasn't even me going full on sperg either. Being told "Shit happens, deal with it" after I complained about how next to nothing has been revealed about the expansion and how terrible the early game is baffled me. I knew Leviathan was filled with idiots dancing in Limsa 24/7 erping with each other but I thought at least my FC felt uneasy about the future of the game with how poorly designed things are.

You know, I remember doing these fetch quests, in fact, I'm fairly certain most people have done these MSQ quests. Yes they often times aren't that fun in the 2.x series, but overall you're only spending like 4-6 hours on all those and then you're in HW, which has a pretty consistently enjoyable MSQ.

Also let's not forget that while the early game wasn't great, you're done with it now! You made it to at least HW considering your bitching about an aethercurrent.

If you're quitting now over worries that Stormblood doesn't have a lot of information about it, it makes me wonder why you even put up with it to this point. If anything DRG is the most selfish dps because they're not dependent on other jobs for buffs (outside of things like TA/balance which are outright buffs), talking about things like piercing damage up.

The real kicker is that they're the only job that gets to apply their damage type debuff for 'free' as part of their default, optimal rotation. It's a DPS loss for a NIN to provide their own slashing debuff for instance because they'd rather be using aeolian edge instead.

It's why I just can't enjoy NIN, if theres no warrior around your rotation becomes cancer - while a DRG just keeps to the same script whether in a solo or party situation.

AV itself does a good job of teaching the party about things like situational awareness and environmental hazards due to the patrols and pools of gold shit. Pity none of what ARR taught players ever popped up again outside of the Binding Coils. Second/Final Coil built on the foundation laid by Binding Coil, but HW dungeons just recycled Coil mechanics and never really introduced anything new or interesting; nothing that would get revisited and expanded upon in Alexander.

Buying clears will get you blacklisted depending on who you buy from. Also depends on what kind of person is buying the clear too. If they're some gilbuying shitter who literally couldn't clear to save their lives, they'll probably have their name spread and blacklisted by chunks of the server's end-game community.
