Hence why the velvet room empowers personas by fusing them, personas level up by killing shadows, and how Death and the other major shadows combine to become the avatar by having MC kill the other 12 major shadows. So what's the issue with Death fusing into the MC's Persona?

Aigis is also not made from "Shadow Fuel", she's made from uses of dusk. The same things that power evokers and mitsurus bike. They are also filled with pieces of nyx, just like living beings, hence why she has a persona and emotions.

That's actually a very interesting perspective. Must be why Death is a recurring enemy character in P3, 4 and now 5. The real thing is inside P3 MC's body, unlike the other full moon shadows that are confirmed dead by SEES. Instead of fighting him in a full moon, we just talked to his apparition instead as well.
