I dont have an explanation for this but civ V is easily the worst civ, IV and VI are both dramatically better

II and III both have their merits, IV fixes the flaws of III and is the peak of the series. V gutted it and VI is at least trying to build on its own ideas.

They removed all the fun leaders, made science and culture completely nonviable, removed all penalties for overwhelmingly aggressive early expansion, made the AI literally roll dice to see what it'd accept in a deal, and made city-states mass spam units into infinity till the entire map becomes a cluster fuck.

Me and my friend still can't play past turn 200 without the game becoming literally unplayable due to lag.

Give it some time to get some expansions and updates.
