Just arrived at the final boss and it has been an amazing experience.
but I don't feel like I want another one, nor that it should have one.
The plot pretty much ended, and the gameplay is refined and varied enough not to asking for a better installment, like in most games where a lot of ideas get cropped because muh budget or muh time.

Bloodborne is a game that explored basically all that it needed to, gameplay-wise and story-wise. It's a complete, coherent package with a narrative that REALLY doesn't have room for a direct sequel. The mechanics are more limited than the Souls games (but more refined), so there isn't much to explore without basically rebuilding the game into something that could have been another IP entirely.

Why does FROM keep releasing souls games
when they could just keep updating the same game?

Like, why do they only have 1 expansion pack for dark souls 1. but in dark souls 3 they have like 10 shit expansions

Ashes was pretty much the same size in terms of level area as AotA. The issue with Ashes was they pretty much only decided to have one actual boss and a shitty NPC "boss".

Honestly, it felt like Ashes and TRC were meant to be one big DLC (the story even directly ties together) but Bamco or someone higher up wanted them to milk it more money so they split it in two.

I have 500hrs minimum in each game in the trilogy, and almost 30hrs in DS1. 20hrs in BB and 23hrs in DS3. I don't let my nostalgia get in the way of viewing the games objectively, and it was admitted by Miyazaki himself that DS1 had multiple unfinished areas and areas that didn't end up as he envisioned.

From an objective standpoint on all design aspects of these games, the order of quality is
SotFS >> DeS >> DS3 > BB > DS1

The gameplay is too important to rank DaS2 at the top, the feeling of the movement, dodging and attacking animations was ruined in that game and it feels jarring. The only example I can think of that isn't subjective is the fact that you can't just un-target and swing your weapon while turning the stick in whatever direction you want, it just results in an attack in whatever direction you were facing with most weapons. In every other game in the series including BB you can aim your swing in any direction while unlocked and it feels great.

Pretty much EVERY game is getting butchered to fit for console filthy peasant hardware, even Nier Automata devs from PG confirmed they they butchered the details and textures for sake of performance.

A shame because they could release a proper untouched version for PC and feed the console peasants that garbage that was released (that is not even running on PS4 with consistent 60 fps obviously, lmao).

Hell even The Witcher 3 devs butchered the graphics for the same reason. But at least they kept a lot more for PC so you can get Ultra settings with 60+ fps and laugh at console plebs who play with sub-30 fps and Low graphics preset.

I'm guessing it's because the wait times are high due to having to pay for online to participate in it. Personally I don't give a single fuck about the Soulsborne online functions and was immensely greatful to have no online in Bloodborne.
