Original EO1 was a fucking cakewalk compared to this. Alternatively my party classes sucked ass, but I really thought I couldn't go wrong with the usual Land/Prot/Medic - Surv/Alch setup. Land is the dullest melee sword user in the series, even behind EO1's since you can't spam Falcon Slash like you could Allslash, Protector doesn't know what the fuck she's doing besides Line Guarding (always hated the defense-oriented classes but figured it was needed in this game), Medic is Medic but Immunize sucks now and Caduceus' damage isn't too hot anymore, Survivalist's damage in general fucking sucks now and yet she's shitting it out in amounts comparable to the Landy, and Alchemist is pretty decent.

Primevil in EOU1 is significantly harder than in the original, and might be the hardest etrian boss period unless you have good grimoires.

I could never get into this franchise because the FOE's scared the shit out of me. I hate first person. Are they're any that don't do that?

I did however look up the original story, it's fucked up and what's even more fucked up, the reason those two fought you was absolutely right, you keep going down and spoiling the secrets means economic death for the town

My post wasn't about Primevil/Yggdrasil Core though, I was complaining about Etreant. The party setup I described, at nearly lv70, fails to deal more than 50% damage to the Lost Shinjuku stratum boss before getting viciously slaughtered.

It also means no more explorers will pointlessly lose their lives in the labyrinth, killed by the chieftain's selfishness. In the ending of the game, the Radha Hall dude aims to look into other ways for the town to survive, so it's still a hopeful resolution.
