When I say "Artorias," I don't literally mean a boss that fucking ninja flips across the arena to smash you or whatever. Artorias was a humanoid boss in armor who had devastating combos that relied on the player doing really intensive split-second dodges or blocks and heavily managing their stamina, and many people remember the fight for the rush it gives and just how utterly fast-paced he was in comparison to the rest of the game as well as his outlandish moveset. When I make comparisons to Artorias, I'm talking about that.
Pontiff is an armored guy with two greatswords who chains and combos attacks together so much that he fucking cancels his attack animations into eachother making a lot of his attacks virtually impossible to predict or react to if you're stuck playing at 30fps. Dancer does her ridiculous spinny dance for 10 seconds which again results in an extremely fast combo that you have to i-frame through or get stunlocked. The Soul of Cinder, yet again, is another large human in armor with lightning fast sword swings, and I think you get where I'm going with this at this point.
The main comparisons to be made between these bosses and Artorias is that they are all large people in armor with movesets very standout from a lot of the enemies that are executed extremely quickly and often chain into eachother. A few of these bosses carefully used at intervals and broken up between some breather segments are fun. When you dump like 7 of them into the fucking game with barely any buffer in between them, they just become repetitive and no boss in particular stands out to you because you just fought 7 fucking bosses who all feel the exact same to fight.
