There's just so much development for a character that players could miss. The amount of polish in the plot is insane and there's still dialogue to this day that I'm surprised exists. For example, some dialogue is different if Reyson has been defeated in battle beforehand, as Ike mentions how he shouldn't push himself due to being hurt. There's also stuff like Shinon having convos if he fights former GM members, certain bosses expressing disgust for laguz, and some earlygame victory cutscenes having somber music and special dialogue if people die.

I could never single out one title as my favorite, but some that I hold in really high regard are Freespace 1 & 2 and Gravity Rush 2.

FS1's intro cinematic is still my favorite cutscene of all time because of the voice acting.

Easily Silent Hill 2, nothing else comes close to the perfection of that game in my eyes. The ONLY problem I have with it is that I think it needs a little bit more variety in the common enemies, lying figures and mannequins get old. I like both for very different reasons. DMC3 for it's depth of combat and muh sandbag combos, and DMC1 for it's more direct approach to combat, aggressive enemies and spooky atmosphere. DMC1 gets a lot of backlash and people parroting "dated & clunky" when that couldn't be any more wrong, camera aside honestly.

Comparing the two really isn't fair, DMC1 has more in common with say NG than DMC3. They're two different spectrums, but it is what it is.

S2 and all the Warscape games are a joke. I was truly confused when I first played them. Couldn't believe that they'd rob you of so many tools to control your lands in favour of streamlining and casualizing the game. You used to be able to finely tune each settlement. Now you use grand, sweeping commands that can really hamper you.

I'm partial to the second game (with restored content obviously) because it's so different, but in a good way. There isn't a dull moment in TSL and every single supporting character is interesting, even the droids, and that's really a rarity.

The story is a huge in scale, yet concisely shown. Every single action is questionable, be it either good or evil. And that, in my opinion, is really hard to pull off.

There's a lot of backstory to everything. The planets, the characters, and even the PC have aspects to them that slowly unravel. The Exile isn't an avatar of the player; but her own character, and an evasive one at that, full of trauma and perseverance, tenacity and cunning. To me, it feels like the Galaxy is still reeling from the Civil War, and is much more cynical a place than in the more happy-go-lucky, shonun-esque first game. And through that extention, the Galaxy is a more interesting place to explore. A lot less static in a way. More dead, yes. But also more alive.

This game also really made me despise both the Jedi and the Sith - their philosophies are flawed. The whole game is a criticism of their tendencies toward extremist thinking; - which, in turn, creates the very problem they have tried to solve for a thousand-thousand years. A Jedi, as a beacon of good and righteousness is taught from the very beginging of their existence that there is only one path: To fight, and defeat the Dark Side, because it's the antithesis to their philosophy. And then, they fall. And because they only know extremism, because they are black-and-white by nature, they become the antithesis. From wholesomely good, to utter evil, and back again. Forever. Both sides strive for dominion over the other, and in doing so, create wars and unabound strife.

In a lot of ways, Kreia was right. Perhaps it would be better if the Force would simply die.

Fucking hell TSL is such a fucking good game. I'ma fire it up.

Skies of Arcadia.

It's still the only game to give me a feeling of adventure and exploration that no other game has done. I played it 5 years ago, and nothing has topped it.

A lot of my favourite games involve going on big adventures, but Skies of Arcadia truly takes the cake. The way they spread out the small world, and separated you from it was great. I mean finding out you traversed the whole world was honestly incredible, and there was STILL stuff to find, it was great.

The characters were also great, Vyse is truly one of the best JRPG protags you could have, and his crew is full of lovable characters that are great.

Seriously, beside the encounter rate and the slow battles, it's a 10/10 game.

For a second there I thought I was going to be the first person to bring up Diablo 2. Fuck that game blew me away when it came out. Arcane Sanctuary and Pandemonium Fortress are still two of my favourite settings in any game.

Cliche as it is, Dark Souls can't go without mention either. Fuck even Demon's Souls as the first Souls game will always have a fond place in my memory.

I used to have an unhealthy obsession with Sonic Adventure 1 as a kid. I fucking loved that game. I wasn't even a typical autist Sonic fan, I just really liked that game in particular.

I even found the Big sections pretty fun.

My all-time favourite game has to be Crazy Taxi, though. There's nothing much to do in the game, but it's still really fun.
