It's about a series of monsters that show periodically fought by teenagers with the last one taking the form of a human boy. The Fall and The Human Instrumentality project are also very similar.

We all should enjoy Persona games.

>An episodic slice-of-life where the protagonist, a detached loner, is charged with defeating monsters which periodically appear to threaten humanity. Over the course of the story it's revealed that the protagonist is linked with a top-secret project which caused the problem to begin with. Near the end, the final obstacle takes the appearance of a teenage boy who is drawn to the protagonist. The mysterious boy must be killed before humanity is extinguished, which causes a great deal of grief and introspection with the main cast.

I'm surprised nobody picked up on it sooner.
