There's a reason why Boost games limit your turning. It's so you don't smash straight into the sides of walls frequently. Those few sections where they try to pretend you have freedom to move where you want shouldn't really be in the games because the controls aren't made with them in mind.

It's not like it matters, even the best 3D sonic game is just "okay" at best. Until they fix the level designs, the walking mechanics won't make a difference
