It's because all of classic Sonic's physics in Generations feel very hard-coded. There is no momentum calculation, you basically have one fixed state for everything Sonic does.

This is actually the first demonstration I've seen of this phenomenon in action.

Like for instance, if you jumped on an enemy with a slight amount of force (like a short jump), Sonic seems to bounce up with a fixed amount of distance regardless of how hard you hit the enemy. Whereas in older Sonic games you'd just limply fall back down if you didn't hit the target with any force.

The whole thing has a very "scripted" feel to it, like they didn't know how to make momentum-based physics work in the Generations engine.

One day, once I actually get my video game design career up off the round, I'm going to ask to remake shadow the hedgehog just to A: Fill all the plotholes B: Prove I can do it, and C: probably tie into an even greater feat of mastery that would be my next project, a remake of the game that was more infamous than ANY other, simply because I want to see if it's possible since I can find a few scraps of gold in that pile of shit...

I mean I'd have to basically make it so Blaze is only after Iblis because it's really her world's version of chaos, but uh... there. It's actually less hard than I thought to make that work. Now to figure out how to make the alien plot less stupid.

SA2? It has a lot of issues, mine crashed on startup and I never found a fix for it. The Battle content is also locked behind the DLC. You're better off playing it on Dolphin or on console.
