I am not sure which is my favorite part, the one where protagonist's dead dad (granddad? There's also the part where you finally find your gf and then the next minute you live her unprotected and unarmed to chase some guy who can make portals.

And then they steal your gf AGAIN and stick her in some beast without even removing her clothes.

Also when you find the portal guy and defeat it in a climactic battle the very next room has another one and then they're semi-common monsters until the end of the game.

Also you kill ghost kids by shooting them with real guns (what).

And the part in the intro where you have an extremely awkward melee brawl with two stereotypical rednecks who awkwardly try to rape your gf (IIRC) and you whack each other with the wrench like 20 times and then they die and the gf is like OH MY GOD TOMMY

The plot in that game was just a gift that kept on giving

I loved it so much. It has a very Evil Dead feel to it.
Like the part where you go through a portal and discover you've shrunk yourself and are now on a very small rock you saw in the room earlier, and then enemies come in and instead of just shooting the tiny you on the rock they start shrinking themselves and coming to kill you.

And those actually really well done intercepted radio transmissions of rednecks claiming they saw UFO's and saying their children are possessed.

See, that sequence would actually be fun if they tried to shoot you and you'd have to dodge giant blasts of energy while running to the portal, but instead it's just a yet another fight with those boring dudes, only on a somewhat cool environment.

I mean, it's cool that you liked it, alright, I think the story was insanely stupid and contrived but I enjoyed it for that reason, at least it wasn't bland like the base gameplay, which is good.

The gameplay itself is average, and I'm pretty that's because it came out during the age of dumbed down FPS's. The real stars of the game are the atmosphere and setting.

The thing is, I'm quite sure most of that comedy is not intentional. I've played some funny FPS, and Prey doesn't feel like it. When you fight final boss and Tommy yells I AM A CHEROKEE WARRIAH I feel like that was supposed to be the end of his arc where he accepts his heritage, something he struggled with the whole life (he wants to GTFO of the reservation in the intro), but it also is so stupid and cheesy.

The gameplay is worse than Doom 3, which is kind of an achievement.

The first game suffers from a very slow start, with nothing really interesting happening before mission 4-5, but they're both good games. IMO, the best superhero games ever made - they capture the silver age perfectly, in all its corniness.

Pic related is simultaneously the best and worst point-and-click I've ever played. Finding random objects to fight Scissorman is cool, but some of the sequences of events are so stupid.

Imps, maggots (aka pretty much imps but melee only and with less HP and narrower hitbox when they attack), wraiths (aka pretty much imps but melee only and able to teleport really slowly, setting themselves up for a shotgun blast).

Imps were good enemies, well designed, but overused. Maggots and wraiths were not very good, because maggots in melee feel similar to imps but imps can also do ranged attacks, and wraiths are just useless because of how they telegraph their teleports.

This was the most fun tps I've played. I really wish the game wasn't super short. They really nailed the Bourne movie thriller espects well and you get the sense speed in the game. The qtes were pretty cool and bad ass. The boss fights were surprisingly good and challenging.

And he's pretty much the only guy who takes the threat of a world ending calamity seriously enough to plan a counter measure to it ahead of time even if it makes him even more suspicious if you don't side with him.
