Another big factor of my hype for HW was the MSQ. It left on a huge cliffhanger that made me want to see what was coming next. Even though they fucked up that arc, it still helped me be hyped. They tied up everything too neatly in HW. All the arcs are basically closed with nothing to make me want to see what happens next. Dragonsong War is over (this arc ended well so I ain't mad), Warriors of Darkness are dead after one patch, Illberd is dead, Shinryu is unconscious or dead somewhere, the Lyse reveal was one of the least interesting and easy to see twists in fucking ages, it was called the second she was seen in the SB teaser like 8 months ago.

SE is failing on basically every level to hype me. If it weren't for the two new jobs I would have zero hype. I want to be excited but what is there to be excited for? Maybe this press tour they're going to start soon will change my mind, and I sincerely hope it does.

If you plan to play in raids, most people expect a player to be capable of at least playing the multiple classes in the same role. Unlike other MMOs, the class-change system pretty much means that it's not as if you lose alot of effort picking a class you don't like.

In terms of snowflake value, I believe ranged dps (MCH/BRD) are probably consistently the class that people need while still being highly valued. Strangely enough, I would follow it up with DRG as well. For whatever reason, I see MNKs/NINs everywhere but none of them. Casters are oversaturated as shit.

FFXIV's balancing is stellar my dude what. You think WoW does anything with its PTR shit? Their class variance in dps went as far as 30% per fight, at most we have 10% between PLD and its counterparts and like 5% between any melee comp with MNK vs without.

I bought the game considering to get into it for the new expansion but it really wears me out. I usually love leveling in MMOs but teleporting back and forth between zones where some idiot NPC is going to tell me something for me to tell the other guy in the next zone for literal hours is killing me. Currently level 50 and stuck in the middle of one of these seemingly endless errand runs from "cutscene" to "cutscene" when I just want to kill mobs for XP.

When I actually get to play I like it though.
