Picked up Soma and First Light.

Doom is a must-buy if you don't have it on PC yet. No Man's Sky is pretty fun for 10-20 hours, but $24 is waaaay too much for it (got my physical copy for $10). Axiom Verge is pretty nice but feels incomplete. Can't tell how much The Swapper is since I've already got it, but that's a pretty decent indie metroidvania too.

I'd say so. It straddles a fine line between being campy about its retro-ness and honestly paying it homage, and the map is probably a little smaller than Super Metroid but there's still a decent amount of collectibles and lore to discover. I'm by no means an expert on the genre and my no-guide run took about 10-12 hours. Personally, it's perfect for the Vita and might feel a little on the cheap side on an HD TV though if you go for the PS4 version and don't remote play it.
