I play the highest difficulty always unless it deletes the save when you die.

because higher difficulties are pretty much always just upscaled HP & damage to ridiculous amounts in order to waste the players time

ie artificial difficulty

I never have fun in hardcore because I'm forced to play safe constantly.

I used to play hardcore for the longest time but changed my mind a few years ago.

Most recent games are poorly made and ship with game breaking bugs that can get me killed, simply beyond my power.
They also tend to be have values inflate to shit halfway through meaning you can get one hit by a rare enemy because you decided to keep items that are 2 levels old.
