Used to be above average bordering on great. If I really liked the game and had time I dug deep. These days I don't have the time or drive so I just casually play.

I love practice mode and probably spend 100X in practice mode versus playing bros. I study set-ups, combos, and generally gather knowledge about fighters I like.

I take a while to adjust when fighting someone new so I'm no good for tournaments. But under pressure I can regularly hit fairly difficult stuff in games like Mahvel and KOF in a real match.

So maybe 6/10?

I think it counts enough, a smash player will be able to comprehend fighting game mechanics better than any other videogame players. Guilty Gear is on the come up. It's only getting more and more popular. If I was a betting man is easy it will probably get the fourth most views at Evo behind SFV, melee, and maybe Tekken.

I'm kind of in an awkward position skill wise. Good enough to utterly trash casual players, not good enough to beat people who actually are good at the genre.

Did you miss all the confusion over Ryu's inputs when he was first added?
I don't even dispute that it's a fighting game, but the playerbase itself has interpretations of fighting game mechanics that seem alien to everyone else (hitstun is considered "lag" by Smash players, say that to any other fighting game player and they'll thing the Smash player is dumb without something explaining this)

Not very. I usually stick to doing simple things like poking, anti-airs, short combos and tick throws when playing. I don't think I've ever learned things like complex setups. I spend most of my time in training mode practicing combos I'll probably never use in a match.

I'm hoping I have enough fun playing Tekken 7 to work towards improving my mindset during matches.

I'm unstoppable offline but online lag irritates me to no end, I'm so mad SFV has no decent offline mode, story mode is a joke and survival is shit because you have to fight for 20 minutes to reach the cpu's that actually put up a fight but if you lose you have to start from the beginning its fucking retarded.

Depending on how much I enjoy tekken 7 I might make that my main fighting game until capcom fixes the unfinished mess that is SFV.

Not very good. Against CPU I can finish the game at hardest IF there aren't continues that force you to start all over again, like an arcade mode.

They call recovery frames lag because recover is already used as a name for the Smash mechanic of having to get back to the stage when you're knocked off.
