Trails in the Sky was originally developed in japan in the 00s. It was originally released in English in 2011. Since then it got an HD PC release that was a hit on steam as well as 2 sequels released on steam in english as well.

Overall, the series goes like this:

Trails in the Sky
Trails in the Sky Second Chapter
Trails in the Sky the 3rd

Trails of Cold Steel
Trails of Cold Steel 2

There are also two other games between sky 3rd and cold steel 1 that haven't been localized yet. Cold Steel 3 is being developed in japan right now.

Each of the games are heavily story based and they are all tied together by an overarching Trails storyline

I don't think I've ever really understood what they're going for with Tita. I thought Tita and Renne were going to have some kind of story and development revolving around each other since they are around the same age and were raised in wildly different ways, even fighting among themselves early in the series. But then nothing came of it and all of Renne's character revolves around Estelle.

It boggled my mind that they didn't force you to take Tita up Renne's tower and have any kind of story with them just so they could give Estelle another character relationship when she was already the most developed person in the cast

My point was more they gave most of the secondary party members needed development with the villains but Tita's completely fell short. She should have been forced for the fight so Renne could see how a "normal" girl her age lives and works to improve the world. It just felt like something was missing since you were forced to take other party members up the towers but there was no corresponding person for Renne other than Estelle, who is already a deep character and is just like a parent or big sister and not an equal.

People don't understand there are way too many hurdles in the way for Zero and Ao to be feasible.

People keep saying "wahh b-b-but you were saying the same thing about SC, 3rd, CS1 and 2", but that's just false.

SC was announced shortly after FC, and there was already a commitment to at least both games when they localized FC (of course they knew it was a two game plan)

The drama around SC made people joke that it would never come out, but no one was ever serious about this.

The 3rd was still possible, but no one thought they'd do it, but they always had the rights to the trilogy (not just FC and SC), it was never 0%

No one was expecting them to skip games, so we always took for granted CS1 and 2 being never ever. Even Xseed was surprised Falcom approached them to localize the games. No one saw it coming.

But Crossbell? So we know that there's NO viable localization for Ao as of now. The only PC version is a Chinese port that is not owned by Falcom. Xseed needs to deal with 3 companies to get that game. Zero is possible, but without Ao, that'd be localizing FC without the prospect of localizing SC. Since we don't know if Ao will ever be in the realms of possibility (and no sign of change) no use in investing the money on what may never be possible to complete.

The EVO versions are completely out for reasons everyone knows.

The script of Ao also dwarfs every game of the series making it a big sink in investment god knows if it will see any return

This is beyond anything like the games localized thus far. If Xseed makes a commitment to localize crossbell they'd still have to wait for falcom to ever port Ao on PC in Japan which so far doesn't show any signs it will happen.
