>How's Tokyo Jungle?
The best way to describe it is as a 3D Double Dragon style beat em up. But instead of fixed progression your goal is to survive as long as you can while the game throws increasingly harder enemies and random events at you. In addition every ten in game years the game assigns to you some random side objectives to complete which may reward you with extra goodies such as unlockable animals or equipment.
There's also a story mode with some interesting missions when you get tired of the beat em up style gameplay. Overall I really enjoyed it, the best beat em up game I've played.

Subsistence had a really awesome online mode, along with the fixes to the MGS3 story. Shame the online is gone now.

MM 3DS is one of the few remakes I feel made the game better in every way.

TvC is the first fighting game I got really into. Still has the best roster I've ever seen in a fighting game.

TMNT Arcade was an instant quarter muncher.

Still play Mario Kart 64 with bros to this day. The new games are better but this is the one we can sit down and just play for hours without getting bored.

Tough choice between Dark Souls and Bloodborne, but went with DS mostly because I prefer dark fantasy over victorian shit.

Everything else is pretty self explanatory.

Didn't care much for the later Arkham games compared to Asylum. The open world style made it a cool Batman simulator but the progression felt like shit because of it.
And maybe I'm just retarded but City's world was a struggle to navigate since everything was dark and looked the same with not many distinguishable landmarks. I depended on the map to figure out where I was going most of the time.

I'd been into RTS games for a while when I picked this up, but I still think the multiplayer and balance between the three fundamentally different factions is better done than any other RTS to date. So many in that genre fall victim to the "tier 3 units > tier 2 units > tier 1 units" formula and Starcraft kept everything relavent with counter behaviors and all that. Just awesome.

Definitely love the series, and this was again, my first one. I still think it has the best visual aesthetic. The areas were really well done (even though a lot of the bosses were gimmicky / easier than future games).

Any game where I can wander in the desert and shoot shit with a revolver is a game I enjoy. With mods, it becomes an absolute masterpiece, imo.

DS1 has better world design and level design, but the art direction of BB and Gothic/Lovecraftian overtones result in an insta-boner from me. The Old Hunters was also perfection, imo; extends Bloodborne from too-short to a perfect length.

It's nice to have actually good combat in a fantasy RPG, Grigori is sick as shit, and the true ending is absolutely fantastic.

My all-time favorite by a country mile. Small town settings are the best, which is why DP is on here, and probably why Diamond is Unbreakable is my favorite JoJo part. The music is perfection, with my favorite track being A Sky Full of Stars, and pushes the atmosphere above 5's flawless presentation, imo. The cast is great, the combat is pretty good, and Naoto is best girl.

I preferred V for a long time, until I started playing Snake Eater on Very Hard recently; difficulty makes 3 absolutely shine, and the camp is undeniably fantastic.

Speaking of camp, this game is absurdly broken. It's barely playable, even with patches, and DRIVING YORK'S CAR CRASHES THE FUCKING GAME, but the frustration is *somehow* part of its ineffable charm. I play through it every couple of years or so, and it never fails to make me feel good.

Star Wars if it had internally-consistent lore. Making your crew into Jedi or Sith is the absolute best, and as edgy as Kreia is, she's still an awesome character.

Mostly nostalgia, I played it when I was 13 and it would end up having a major influence on the types of games I would enjoy. Truly made me realize how important atmosphere is in games, and the difference between having good atmosphere and bad atmosphere in games is what I feel seperates games that use the medium well from games that don't

What more is there to say? Some of the best writing there is in vidya, and not only is the writing phenomenal, but the amount of choice you have in shaping dialogue and the story is unrivalled. The characters are all quirky and memorable, and every time you play through the game you just gain even more appreciation for it.

This one I've always had mixed feelings about. As I get older, my feelings on the game have changed a lot. The story has a fuckton of plotholes, the second disk is a mess, but I still have to give credit for the game for just the things it tried to do. I ended up finishing the game despite it being rather boring and tedious at times just for the thrill of seeing what crazy plot twist the game would throw next. It has a solid atmosphere, and it's one of the few jrpgs from the playstation1 era that really captured me.

I've always been on the fence between either this one or FE4 for being on the list. Both have far away the most interesting worlds and characters of all the fire emblem games, though fe5 edges out fe4 for me for a few reasons. One being Leif,who is one of the most interesting protagonists ive ever enjoyed following in a game. Secondly, the gameplay is much more interesting. It's challenging and ruthless, but it also gives you a lot more freedom in terms of building your party, and I heavily enjoyed the addition of scrolls. Plus, I enjoyed the smaller scale of fe5 to fe4.

Yet again another game with amazing atmosphere. The combination of strong atmosphere with heavy amounts of player choices and freedom automatically elevates a game to the highest tiers. Not much more to say that hasn't been said.

The pure, and simple joy of role-playing. Wandering around the wasteland, watching the game open up with more and more choices available the farther you go. I enjoyed the unique setting compared to other RPGs, which is also one of the reason ps:t stood out for me as well

>Tactics Ogre
Quite possibly my favorite game on the list. Fun SRPG gameplay, a solid story which never overextends itself and remains elegant every time I play through it. Such an underrated gem considering it has to live in the shadow of FFT, though I consider it superior to that game in pretty much every way.

Yoko Taro's best game. I've always felt the lore of the Taroverse was one of the least interesting things about it, and the truly great part of these games where the characters. Specifically, the way character's react and get emotionally invested in the events around them. Yoko Taro is a master at this (if only this) and in shines in NieR better than any other game. I didn't really find the gameplay all that terrible as well (especially compared to drakengard), and the magic system was pretty cool. Automata was a worthy sequel, but doesn't quite reach the same heights this one did. Also the OST is amazing.

For a game with such a low budget, it always boggles my mind how they were able to create such an engrossing low-res hellscape atmosphere. One of my favorite games just for walking around. Press turn is a bit unrefined here, especially compared to smt4 and 4a, but it's still plenty fun, and hard mode adds lots of replayability. True ending is pretty memorable, and it even features dante from devil may cry. What else is there to say?

I started to play MGSV less than a month ago, and also happened to replay MGS3 recently.

The cutscenes and overall direction of 3 is top notch, but for the love of god, I can't enjoy its gameplay like I used to.
In comparison MGSV feels really sterile when it comes to presentation and characters, but I'm enjoying it a lot when it comes to gameplay.

I've played V for upwards of 240 hours, and it'd be on 3x3 if I wasn't so stingy about only having one game per series on it, but the variety of V's arsenal just doesn't match up to 3's depth, imo. V has a lot of nice touches, but the core mechanics of sneaking up on a soldier/heavily armored soldier got really boring once you honed the lines of sight down to a science. I just can't enjoy it like I used to.
Shining Lights, though, was the pinnacle of the MGS series, imo.
