My biggest issue with the current console gen is the shitty hardware and lack of games which keeps me from buying one, which is why I've been sticking to PC.
The 360 and PS3 lasted 10+ years. I did buy a cheap wii u since that's been hacked anyways and it has some pretty good games.

I recently talked with my dad about PC parts and he metioned some tournament where whatever manufacturer put a ~$20k as a prize, what the fuck is the differene if you play competitive game on that or on $1000-2000 PC if it runs 200+ FPS on euither of them.

It's not just that I like PC games. I just like computers in general, having an open platform that you can customize all you want and there's no company grabbing you by the balls, I don't mind having to deal with configurations and installing mods to get a better experience, I actually like it and I think that sacrificing quality and freedom just to get things easier is a mediocre as fuck thing to do, it doesn't just translate to how you play videogames but in everything you do in life.

It's exactly like that, but with consoles instead of sports teams since a lot of /v/ doesn't give a shot about them.

The fact that there's an initial monetary cost associated as well makes people even more inclined to defend their choice, whereas having a favorite sports team is free and can be changed at will (although you'll be denounced as a bandwagoner for daring to like the same team as others who liked it longer), but especially mid-gen having a sizeable library is hundreds of dollars invested.

Funnily enough, people took that Yahzee rant about menues and control schemes in the Witcher out of context from the day one it was posted.
Then again Yahtzee is a massive casual, so his inabilitty to press more than 5 keys on his keyboard might indeed made his mockery ironic enough to take it the unintended way.

PC went from easily the best platform which towered over all choices to the best foundation platform so console kiddies feel more free to attack it because it doesn't have that one exclusive.

Deep down, I don't think its really hate. The console users need something to one up us since they never will be able to with hardware, input choices or mods, to name a few.

The exclusives will continue so long as Japan has the vast majority of console users and handhelds willing to buy games and their PC market virtually non existent. This makes developing for it harder, from the lack of knowledge.
That is changing however. It's not just a playground of AAA only anymore, some slightly smaller teams are capable of putting out quality AA titles.
My only regret is from the addition of microsoft into the market during early 2000s and subsequent withdrawal from PC had every big dev flocking away from PC.

Now we are starting to see games that can't be made without the controller in mind first and foremost, which really crushes flexibility and complexity in game design. This is what leads to less of the 'justifiably exclusive' games on PC that simply cannot work using a controller. The same is not true in reverse.
There isn't much technical reason for consoles to have exclusives and so with the money left on the table in that space some devs are finally taking notice.

I can't play the latest game that requires a modern gpu, sure, but I have a console for that. Indie games don't have high requirements most of the time and my favorite games are somewhat older, any toaster can run them. So 99% of ALL pc games, any cheap pc/laptop can run them. Why should I pay top dollar for higher fps/grafix when that doesn't make a game more fun? PCfags are like normie faggots/gen z assholes who only watch modern movies and anything not in HD is shit. Most people can run pc games on their cheap PCs. Not at top specs sure, but why does that matter? Are you having more fun at 120 fps playing LOL than a kid who's running it at 30 fps? And exclusives are great, just have multiple platforms. More games is better than a few games maxed out.

Well, there are more benefits of playing on PC than graphics and performance. So investing on a good PC rather than a cheap laptop+console is also a good option.

Not to mention all the other things you can do with it, I mean I spent most of my free time in my computer (and some working time too) and it's always nice to have a powerful one.
