The only thing from Tabata's trailers not in the final game was the "red" area and the dawn trailer clips. He was already upfront about things that did change pertaining to the invasion of Insomnia, they didn't break any promises regarding that especially since they had been upfront about the changes with constant communication with the community through ATRs and at different gaming events.

If anyone lied about stuff it was Nomura who literally showed CGI mocked up to look like gameplay. Tabata's trailers have already been real gameplay.

The whole team had zero sense of proper direction considering they had to re-do the whole gameplay system and story at least 3 times during the development and some of the scenes that happen make zero sense and clearly were just some cool concept arts they wanted to include in the game but didn't know how.

The bro trip aspect of the game is the only thing that this game fully achieved and got right, but it's not enough for something that had this much of expactations and budget poured into it.

Instead of doing that cringe-worthy Uncovered event, they should had used that money to hire more programmers or writers.

That's not how budget or even development works. By December of 2015 they already had the game as it is now only unpolished, 2016 was spent to polish up the games assets, visuals and bug fixing all the way until release. Something like uncovered event happened 3 months after they had already had a fully playable build of the game from start to finish, and even then the uncovered event was a marketing event to advertise the game which it was successful in doing. Even if the game was delayed 2 months, all the other stuff revealed at the event came out in a timeline manner which in turn were things that helped to promote the game further.

No. It's an unfinished mess. Wait until the complete version is out on PC for $10 during a sale.

It's because they are so rare and sparse in happening that they keep their impact, if you had them happening every 5 seconds it would lose its impact. It's sort of like the final smash stuff in Smash bros, if everyone had them at all times in every battle they'd lose their impact. XV is an RPG so it intergrates narrative into the game mechanics.

Btw that isn't time travel, Umbra just shows you past memories which it frames as stuff you had already done.

Just make it a super long super hart dungeon and at the end you get Bahamut or Ifrit or Kings of Lucis or whatever. It's a still a game so postgame doesn't matter to the story.
