Great technology and ideas, awful execution of gameplay and setting partially ruined by animus and modern day elements. Sequels went more and more in the wrong direction by going for the standard GTA like mission types instead of doing something unique with the target investigation and preparation and finally execution.

First one was flawed but a huge visual technical and visual accomplishment, also had a superb setting

Second one is massively overrated, everyone seems to love it despite not fixing any of the fundamental flaws of the first and having an inferior setting

Black Flag had cool ships

Everything else is pure trash
