Fucking hell the leveling in this game is fucking boring. I hate doing dungeons with frog fucks. I hate running potd over and over, nobody does fates. All they had to do is add alternative ways to gain exp, like what about saucer minigames giving exp? I thing it's a good idea. More ways to lvl up and more people will play them.

Are you retarded? Tanks do mechanics + tank specific mechanics. And the fun part is, tanks have to worry about maximizing dps output, just like dps jobs. Plus, dps get to slack. If you're a tank, you make a mistake and you get kicked. If you're a dps who's doing 1500 dps in a9s, it's all well and good, it's the tank's fault you died anyway. Dps die on traps in a10s, they get rezzed 5 times. Tank loses aggro on the add when pulling him because the healer heal bombed or the dps unsleashed on it before the tank got to get a single attack in, guess who gets kicked.

Yep. Also when chosing what to max first remember in hi-lvl craft you'll need 50-54 lvl cross-skills. Max first CUL and ALC. Then GSM and ARM.
Also the most profitable crafters are CUL and ALC. CUL and ALC because raidfags buy dem foods and pots for the buffs. But right now at the end of the expancion everyone saves money so you won't make that much. Wait till first tier of Omega Savage is released.

The slowest and cheapest method is to grind mats as you level gatherers, then use these mats to level crafters. That requires lots of storage slots, and you probably just have two retainers, so you will run out of space before level 50, and low level mats are dirty cheap on market board.
The "efficient" method is to use leves, beast tribes and some gil to level everything.
For gatherers, I just did leves all the way to my first collective in HW (Old World Fig), then just harvested these things (and other ones as I unlocked them) until 60. I also harvested some basic mats while I waited for my GP to recover, since leveling HW mats are a bit more expensive than ARR ones (and got a decent cash with it).
On my first crafter, vendor NPC to 15, beast tribes and some leves with NQ items I crafted by myself all the way to 50, then just moogles all the way to 60.
Then I got some decent cash selling basic shit with that crafter and gatherer, and now I just buy HQ items on marketboard (or small requests to other crafters, complete levekits are overpriced as fuck most of the time) and burn all my leves to take a crafter to 50 in a few hours, then moogle quests all the way to 60 while I wait my leves to recharge for the next class.

How comes Exodus is always open but it feels more alive than Ultros which is closed most of the time?

So what's everyone's wishes/hopes regarding the new skills for the existing jobs, on the practical side ?

BLM/DRG main here, and although I did enjoy the Enochian/BotD shennanigans and the skill ceiling it brought, can't help but feel they could probably find a way to ease it, without necessarily unvalidate it altogether or making it super easy (infinite Enochian), while still keeping it rewarding.

DRG's BotD especially, while being a great mechanic, it's also a bit too strict I feel, especially regarding downtimes in fights (which a lot have).

How about a skill that lets you pause the BotD timer when you use it, but it would resume as soon as you use a weaponskill ? Hey maybe that's what the red BotD is, you basically let out a AoE or single target burst attack that also pauses the timer at the same time, but you also can't abuse it as the moment you go back to your rotation it resumes.

Frankly I'd be more about getting traits that evolve the existing skills/mechanics in an interesting way rather than new flashy skills that don't bring much and would just bloat the list.

What if SMN got some kind of mechanic that encouraged them to cycle through their egis? Stuff like procs for free instant summons, maybe have the previously summoned egi remain for a few seconds before disappearing, give each egi a group buff. Take contagion off garuda and give it to SMN, give her something else instead. Have titan apply weaker stoneskins to everyone or do something to the guy to give people a reason to use him in group content since solo content practically doesn't exist after a certain point.

As an AST I'd like Exalted Detriment and its equivalents to be ogcd, I dislike that little pause after casting it that breaks the flow. I'd like Cleric's Stance changed or removed altogether because locking me into 5 seconds of being unable to heal is clunk. I'd even rather sit out 5 seconds after dropping it than enabling it.

As far as new skills go I'd like an ability that copies a card's effect from one friendly to another, that's about all I can think off the top of my head. I'm honestly just hype for the new 2 cards.

A better use for Dark Arts. Most of the skills affected by DA have very mediocre effects either with it (Power Slash, Dark Dance) or without it (Carve and Spit, Soul Eater), making the whole system basically a visual gimmick rather than an actual gameplay mechanic. Having no reason to use something is pretty much like having no way to use it. The only thing you create with Dark Arts is a potential mistake in case of a misclick (like using soul eater without DA).
I can't think of better effects for every skill, but they should do something like: DA Power Slash have some extra enmity effect instead of just more enmity (like a way to give a smokescreen effect to your party member, either something like a reaction status that buffs the healer that casts a healing spell on you, or an automatic effect to the second highest enmity target in your party), DA and non-DA Dark Dance should have completely different effects (like a 20sec defensive cooldown without DA, and a 5sec 100% parry with DA). I'm not saying these are perfect and definitively balanced ideas, it's just how I would like to see it working.

I'm playing Paladin for the first time. When do I use Awareness? When do I use Cover? Should I cycle between mobs and do my enmity combo on each of them in turn, or just separate that combo with Flash every time? Is that combo also my main dps tool, or should I use Riot Blade combo when I need to throw down damage?

Awareness is not a very effective cooldown unless the enemy has a heightened crit chance which doesn't happen all that often. However if an attack crits you can't block or parry so the logical result then is that all else be equal pair it up with Bulwark.

Cover is used when somebody is beating up someone in your party you don't want to be beaten but you haven't grabbed aggro yet or you don't want to. Basically in a dugeon it's likely the healer when new adds spawn. It's one of the least often used skills.

At lower levels you'll have to Flash significantly more. Before you have Rage of Halone Riot Blade is the stronger combo so with sufficient gear you could be doing something like Riot Blade combo on mob 1 Riot Blade combo on mob 2, flash for aggro, then repeat. Once you get Rage of Halone Riot Blade is not very useful at all until you get Goring Blade finisher that branches off Riot Blade. Basically, read potencies.

If you have trouble keeping aggro, just flash more really. Keep your weapon upgraded as that's the main source of damage and thus aggro generation in this game.

Their body is mostly human, with some added scales. And even then, they were nearly genocided by Ishgardians when the first batch showed up 25 years ago. They're very notably human compared to the draconic concept art. Not a single person in Eorzea wouldn't consider that a beastman, given that the only real difference between beastmen and the wandering races are their appearances. Beastmen all have societies, government, civilization, etc. The Kobolds were even who taught Limsa all their advanced metallurgy techniques that they base their economy on. But they're still beastmen because they look like beasts.

PLD could be a badass job imo. These changes might be a little OP but I think it addresses their issues.

Exactly, you don't need a dragon head to be considered a beast, that much they added to their lore, but unfortunately they just decided to make it irrelevant for the rest of the game.
While I can agree that having a fully scaly, dragon-like face (even with a mostly human-like body) would turn them into beast tribes for the rest of Eorzea, I still find very lazy how they basically look like humans with skin cancer. Male lizards at least have some somewhat unique proportions (not as large as roes, but not as slender as elezens), but female lizards are just midlanders with bootleg himecuts.

Yeah, I forgot about the damage part of non-DA CS, but 350 still is a big loss when you can just drink a ether/elixir and paying attention to your MP bar after BP/BW ends.
Non-DA CS is pretty much only "usable" when spamming DA+AD, but BP will give you so much MP that CS' extra MP on a 60sec cooldown will have no effect on your success or failure in that pull, it is pretty much meaningless.

Still, I don't think there's anything broken with being able to instant-cast an ogcd clemency at will. That shit still eats through your MP like mad so if you're going to cast it several times in quick succession you're gonna run out of MP immediately and gaining that MP back will require you to spam riot blade which is still a dps loss. Yeah sure, you gain it back naturally over time with Riot Blade/Sheltron but it's hardly spammable.

There isn't a single OGCD in the game without a cooldown because its bad design to make an instant cast ogcd without one. It would have to have at least a small one like 10 seconds anyway.

The only acceptable fix I can see to Clemency to appease everyone would be making it an off gcd with a cast time so you can weave it in between GCDs. If it gets interrupted, oh well, at least you didn't lose a GCD from it.

PLDs do not regenerate MP instantly, even after you blow through your entire MP bar for two(2) casts there's still a decent wait before you can cast another one. Maybe not that long but at the least 10-15 seconds, that's not broken at all.

Not really mitigation since the tank would still need enough defense to survive the attack, but yes it would really make healing already easier than it is since the PLD could cover a lot of the incoming damage. I actually wish PLD was this way, then you'd see a real advantage over DRK in the context that healers can now put out more DPS since the PLD would cut down their time spent healing.

But that actually makes sense. DRK healing with soul eater without grit is basically the same thing as storm's path, and path adds a flat 10% damage reduction on top of the heal.
