Ive been lv 72 for 3 months. "Cant kill this boss or dungeon without a group coincidentally doing the same shit" FUCK YOU.

Dragon nest. A "MMORPG" with some cool stuff and a lot of flaws.
The whole game being stanced didnt help. 4 to 8 people on the groups max, but you probably would solo most of it.
Quite interesting ARPG gameplay, although somewhat robotic, as it was all dependent on skills 1-9.
But aiming, timing and placement had a good role, so i say it was better than your average target tabbing mmorpg.

Some of the most severe problems:
Super expensive p2w f2p. You needed to either grind a shitload or lay up to get the good stuff necessary to advance"orphaned content". Every patch would add a flavor of the month new mechanic to fall on obscurity later. Facebook tier farms, pets, follower npcs that can either help you in solo play or do "quests" for cash and items, new methods to get items, just to be outdated in 3 months. The game was full of this shit.

I would probably still play if i didnt got hacked and lost all my 1.5 years worth of grind.

Most SEA servers are up. The Philipino one is in english. Private servers are mostly a cash grab and run type of deal.

Because of diminishing returns, it takes a literal year in hours to go to 62-63. The first 62 just happened, 99.9% of the population isn't even 60, the high end stop at 60-61, because there's literal zero point in grinding 3000 hours for 62 and trying to break world records and go for 14000 hours grinding to get to 63.

They added a fuck ton of catch up mechanics and constant give aways that makes gearing up a joke compared to when it first came out, the gear and level gap has closed significantly, getting to 1-56 takes 12-16 hours, 56-58 around 30 hours, 58-60 around 150 hours. Everything past that is a nonfactor that is your long term game.

PVP is largely decided by teamwork and gear. Node and siege wars is what matters in pvp.
People keep going on and on about it being a pvp game, though this is far from the truth given all pvp is locked behind hundreds of hours of grinding pve and the developers have already announced, their focus is on the pve and lifeskill content of the game in the future, not pvp. Margoria update was entirely for life skillers. Kamasyvle coming up is quest content, more trade life skill content, and the only grind content it will have is stronger than the most powerful dungeons. The level scale will remain high end being 61-62. No one will be hitting 63 without a year or two under their belt at top gear.

I've tried all my life to get into them

My aunt first showed me them and I never found them as fun as diablo but we would still play together
From then on I've tried playing with friends and family and it just gives me the most boring experience.
I've never played one that kept me engaged, maybe the genre just isn't for me?

I still remember the site, it had that Lann picture opening the large gate and I think it said something like ''coming soon'' but I'm not sure. Tried playing the beta it was really laggy and didn't feel like my attacks had any power behind them, cutscenes were lame as shit except the QTE ones, and I queued for a while for the first dungeon and I couldn't find a party despite there being a ton of people there, and I got tired of waiting, is it out of beta yet?

Yeah i don't know about mmos but there is still multiplayer-like fun to be had with new releases: while playing hollow knight it was fun to discover most of the shit myself but getting obscure tips from anons was fun and felt like a part of a journey.

Also what kojima says he is making sounds fun: people combining their efforts to do some endgame shit. Nier: automatta achieved a similar effect by the end and people say that playing new zelda was a fun multiplayer experience with everyone showing new interesting ways to do things.

As for the mmos i don't even know. Randomization and procedural generation of everything? There is also a "honor code" stuff with people agreeing not to look up stuff and explore things themselves but that of course only works on small communities, not the whole playerbase of the game.

I would give so much to play Mabinogi during the first 3 seasons again...

Priston Tale was literally my first korean MMO.

Before that all I had played was runescape and various flash games online.

It blew my fucking mind and I spent the rest of my life playing shitty korean MMOs because of this pile of shit.

I'd have to say one of my personal favorites was DarkEden. Really interesting and diverse leveling system for each faction. Diablo style gameplay in an actual MMO format with cool theming and music. Vampire pvp was fucking hilarious.
