I didn't play much of 1 but enjoyed it, World 2 I love & have a lot of nostalgia for but going back it did have it's quirks and I never played World 3 & I swear no one talks about it ever.

By the way, World 2's OST is sexy as fuck.

Only played PMW 1, it was amazing
Anubis Rex was a pain in the ass, I like the King Galaxian and Space Stages, and the small cameos and homages to classic Namco games.
I played 3, but droped it, I kinda like more when Pac Man was a silent character.

>>
I've always wanted to play these games. How are these games compared too mario64 and banjo kazooie?
>>
>>376685913
They're all decent, I have a real soft spot for 1 though, the overworld is very comfy. Not very comparable to mario 64 or BK though, the levels are linear. You try to get to the end of them and pick up bonus stuff along the way if you're gud.
>>
played 1 and 2. neither have aged that well.
>>
>>376685913
They're all 3D platformers with a linear level structure, as in you beat one level, then go to the next, repeat. Pac-Man World 1 is alright, sort of tedious the longer you play but not terrible.
World 2 is great but it's pretty short. It's got some wonky collision detection but overall it's very fun and one of the few straight 3D platformers I can think of (that aren't designed to be collectathons/have you replaying single levels multiple times). 100%ing it will make you tear your jaw off, though. It also has an arcade with some of the best Pac-Man games in it.
World 3 is mediocre to bad, but for what it's worth, I had fun playing it.

>>376686502
Only thing about 2 that hasn't aged well is the collision detection, otherwise it's pretty solid.
>>
>>376686279
I have seen some gameplay from all three games, they look interesting.
>>
>>376676763

>>
>>376683302
>tfw trying to 100% this level and figuring out it's actually randomly generated so you can't memorize the correct places to go
>>
>>376686674
Oh yeah, didn't consider that.
>>
>>376685913
They are more of straight forward platformers in comparison to banjo or mario.
World 1 is quite balanced regarding platforming and difficulty, maybe a bit too easy.
World 2 can be frustrating at some levels and like some previous anon said, 100% is hard as shit.
World 3 is a mix bag, it feels more of a typical ps2 platformer with the unnecessary combat and story, it's also too easy, but it has it's moments, mainly from Pac-Man being a "I'm too tired of this shit" character.

You should pick up Pac Man and the Ghostly Adventures on steam next time it's on sale

It's not as good as any of the PMW games but it's actually a competent mascot platformer. It had a sequel but the PC port was cancelled - which is actually kind of a shame because it seemed like they made an active effort to improve the game (they put point scores back in, actual collectibles in levels etc)
>>
I didn't care for 2 and have never played 3.

But 1 has always been one of my favorite games of all time. It just never gets old, and always provides a fun challenge when I'm not working and feel like enjoying some drunken nostalgia for a few hours.
>>
>>376687150
I already beat both of them, GA2 is really fun, specially chaining ghost chomps.
I also played the 3ds version of the first one (the one that's a 2d platformer), it was ok.
>>
>>376687393
Did they do anything to make ghost chomps different in the second one (besides adding the points and using the classic arcade sound)? Because I always thought it was pretty satisfying in the first game too
>>
This game series gave Pac-Man the voice I always dreamed he'd have. For that alone, I love it.

Diddy Kong Racing invented that I think. Also added a world map / hub area to the single player, which I've never seen in another kart racer.

>a world map / hub area to the single player, which I've never seen in another kart racer.
Lego Racers 2
>>
>>376690608
DKR only shortcut that you trigger is the whale that appears automatically if you go to the ship. The hub area has been used in the three Crash Bandicoot games.
In World Rally you have to press buttons and eat fruits to open some paths.
Something that's really underrated about world rally is the drift, giving you invulnerability for longer drifts + extra boosts the longer you hold it is pretty neat.
>>
>>376690838
I thought boost speeds varying based on how long you drift was already a thing in mario kart at that point? Or am I getting confused since SASRT did the drift boost tiers and I've played that one the most recently?
>>
>>376684394
>Anubis Rex

Only beat it a year or two ago after not playing for over a decade. How in the fuck is any kid supposed to do that? It's even lamer considering you're just fighting some stupid jewel, and it's only the second boss. Even the final boss was a walk in the park compared to it

pac-man's the only amiibo I've got and I don't even have a nintendo console that can use it

It reminds me of the collectable trophies in PMW3 which I'm fairly sure are a nearly identical pac-man pose on a similar circle base
>>
>>376691057
You only had 2 states of boost (now 3) in MK, same with SASRT i think.
World rally had like 6 states of boosts and the largest one was faster than a regular boost, it also gave you the item to be invincible after filling the bar.
>>
>>376691341
>same with SASRT i think
SASRT has 6 levels of boost but you can only achieve the top 3 tiers by comboing boosts together (eg drift boost combined with a stunt boost or powerup boost)
The invincibility item from drifting is definitely a PMWR exclusive thing as far as I'm aware

>tfw the PSP version of the game is the only one with all the content, and there's a track blatantly taken out of the classic cup in all other versions
>>
>>376691286
It's just a rumor of course:
http://gematsu.com/2017/04/bandai-namco-trademarks-pac-man-maker-europe
I didn't know about that site.
>>
>>376691187
if they gave you more of the same you would bitched. They make anything different you bitch, so there is no winning with people like you. So Namco and other Japanese companies just do whatever they like. Because at the very least you played it and at least know someone that bought it.
>>
>>376691324
The Pac-man's amiibo is one of the best amiibo created so far. No shame in buying one even if you don't own a Nintendo console.
>>
>>376691473
Yeah, i was thinking about that, ASRT has more focus on comboing boosts, sorta like DKR.

There is a big difference between improving on an already set and loved gameplay by adding new features and completely changing the gameplay for worse.

>>
>>376676337
