A more confined game built from the ground up for Switch could easily look better, technically at least. Zelda has fantastic aesthetics.

I heard that BotW was ported quickly for the Switch's release and that's why it has some issues. Don't know if that's true or not. We'll only be able to tell when we have a big game like BotW that's been made just for the Switch. Xenoblade 2 maybe?

That its a WiiU port is the really relevant thing. Its engine wasn't built for the new Vulkan based API, its doubtful that its optimized as well as it could be.

BoTW represents Nintendo's earliest efforts, they have a ton of room for improvement even without a "New" Switch.
