The only way she managed to achieve transition at all was due to the effects of magic crystals that resonated with trace remnants of their god's energies - a god who had an entirely unwilling and unconscious aura that drew others to adore her. Consuming these crystals caused their bodies to warp and change, eventually allowing them to change their bodies by their own will, making themselves tougher, making their own limbs into weapons or tools, but it also created in them symptoms of addiction that are essentially those of crack-cocaine on steroids. This got to the point of eventually consuming their mind and leaving naught but a mindlessly confrontational, shapeshifting beast.

Angof seemed to come across the idea of only consuming in moderation, to ween herself off, and is trying to help the few last of her kind not completely gone in the head yet to do the same. It's that aspect of her character that comes to the forefront in any and all discussions - in fact, the character herself NEVER ONCE mentions that she made any kind of transition. She doesn't even hint about it. You only find out about it due to a throwaway line in a journal talking about how she no longer felt trapped in her own skin after you gain access to after killing some of the mindbroken shapeshifters and finding her husband's wedding band.

Like people have said, Erica's presence in the story is minimal and not immediately blurted out in some Bioware-tier life story plot dump conversation.

But also I think it was just another aspect to consider when you look at the underlying reason for the game's story. Only men who are refusing to help propel the human race with children are affected. So that means procrastinators like Vincent, people not in a relationship or not seeking one, people keeping women from having children, and in Erica's case "women" who are holding men back from actual women.
