If you're in the market for a PS4 fightstick, just build one yourself. Paradise Arcade and FocusAttack sell the parts for cheap. You could probably build your own stick for half the cost of some of these other ones

Build your own. Get a Makestick case from focus attack and pick out some good parts

Buy used off of ebay. make sure whatever you buy accepts Sanwas so you can upgrade.

Full House was comfy and safe, which is why a lot of people both like it and hate it. It got preachy as hell at times, and the characters sort of became catchphrase machines at points.

I'm in a shit spot, I've been playing with a mad catz te round 2 for a few years, but recently I've been having really bad joint trouble with my left arm and using the stick irritates it more than anything else I do. Advice on a pad? A few years back when I was first starting out I used a logitech and it was pretty decent, so I might just go for another of those. I also gave a crosstekken pad a shot but I couldn't fucking stand it, horrible dpad.

What games do you play? Depending on what you play, the advantage can be even more important. Play a lot of airdashers like Guilty Gear? IADs are much more difficult on pad. For a while, people even though Zato was impossible to correctly play on pad altogether. Play KoF? Learning the hop motion is simpler since you can instantly hit down far easier with a stick and tapping for up on a hitbox is even simpler.

I have a Japanese friend and he uses a PS3 pad for everything. He wants to learn how to play FPS, and he thinks that using a Keyboard + Mouse is some arcane feat that's impossible to pull off. I might have to just ship him some equipment with instructions.

Asians only use arcade sticks because they play in arcades so they're used to them for fighting games more than they are controllers. There's no advantage to a stick over a controller other than personal preference.

Couple of things to note here.
1. Hitbox has much better layout. AS and D are far too close together for the ergonomics of doing motions. You might end up accidentally pressing the wrong keys and fucking up/tripping over your own hands. You're guaranteed to get clean, precise inputs with a hitbox 100% of the time.
2. Hitbox works with consoles by default. Most keyboards don't have the PCB necessary for you to play the games on console, which is a big deal when you go to tournaments.
3. The parts are generally of higher quality than the average keyboard, with anti-ghosting guranteed to be built in. I'd argue that the hitbox is even better than "gaming" keyboards for fighting games.

Are you fucking kidding me? Like I said, there are special inputs you can do that are much faster on stick than pad. QCFs are much easier, Plinking is much more feasible, and you generally have more workspace. Next you're going to tell me there's no difference between Korean and Japanese sticks. Have you ever played Tekken on either? Going back to neutral on the former is much easier since Korean sticks don't use any springs, unlike their Japanese counterparts. They use a rubber pad to bring the stick back to neutral, so the motions for things like EWGFs feel much more natural. How about Square gates vs Octo Gates? Are you going to try to convince me that Square gates aren't better for charge characters while Octo gates are easier for performing QCFs next?

More importantly, the stock pads for a lot of consoles are of cheap build quality in the first place. Using a 360 Dpad to play fighting games is the equivalent of buying a $30 Mayflash stick.

Also, there are younger asian players play on pad since they were introduced to consoles earlier than arcade cabs. If one must use a pad, though, I would suggest getting one of those Hori fight commanders since they have an objectively better 6 button layout.

There's a reason people tried to get hitbox banned on grounds of it being a cheater device a few years back. You can literally do quarter circles faster than any stick and it's a scientific fact, as the input is literally 2 button presses, a much faster feat than rolling your thumb or worse, rolling your entire wrist. This is just logistics at this point. Jump installing in Guilty Gear is literally one motion on hitbox that can be performed near simultaneously as a one frame input. If the game you want to play has any execution barrier at all, e.g. isn't Divekick, you're doing yourself a disservice to not use a hitbox and essentially take the execution out of the equation. Anyone that tells you otherwise has probably never used all three input devices for any significant amount of time.

That stick is notorious chink garbage and is almost entirely fucked customization-wise. Buttons are 2 millimeters short of the standard, the stick has a weirdass socket for it in the case's molding instead of traditional screws/solder other fightsticks use, and the PCB is dogshit that requires excessive soldering and solder removal to make it compatible with the current standard parts.
