He bought me dark souls 2 and even though I hated it I finished it more than once

I've gifted L4D1+2 to bros so we could co-op with he 4+players mod for at least 2 months straight from Midnight til about 4 AM playing custom campaigns and the like.

Those were some of the best times ever.

It's fun but you either need a lot of motivation yourself or you need to know someone who knows about the game who can help you when you get stuck. Because you will definitely get stuck at some point or another. And if it gets too bad, you shouldn't feel any shame in looking at a guide. You really have to commit whenever you decide to start playing it though, because if you go too long without playing, you're going to forget everything you were doing and have to start all over.

I try not to used it, but it's a way to not ruin the mood for the first play through.
I also select specific parts so I don't spoil myself beforehand.
