His base skills make him into an overly specialized lance killer, which frankly Narcian does better.
His stat-line is that of an all-rounder, with a slight emphasis on bulk. He's pretty mediocre for an ax, and fails to stand out next to units like Hector, especially with swords always being a thing in the meta.

What I mean is that he has poor res for a mage, making him a bad magic sponge compared to even the Red Mages. He has better mixed bulk, but he's not good enough on either side for that to work in his favor. Having good bulk on one side and poor on another, especially for units like mages, is better than having mediocre bulk on both sides.

Characters gain points with each other each turn. If they're next to each other, it's faster. You can use jealously by having multiple nearby to make it even faster too but that's trickier so you should probably ignore it.
During chapters certain units can talk to each other for items, stats and love points too.

Only male and female can support, and only one can be done on each in a run.

Ironically, the best way to make her useful in defense is to completely strip her of her weapon. Makes her impossible to bait out, so she can focus on being an annoyance and healing your other units. It's not like she's doing any damage with her weapon anyway. Slap Miracle on her for extra fun.

The music, the art (for the most part), and the distillation of the gameplay into bite sized morsels is so well done. Run +Spd if you want to do a Blade build, but TA Raven prefers +Atk instead.
You can just run three blade cavs on one team if you really want to. I prefer keeping her with TA to make Rein a complete pushover, though.

I can use either 5* Titania (-Spd / +Res - a.k.a. fuck you I wanted Soren), 4* Zeph, or 4* Clarine (neutral IV) as my bonus defense unit, so build the team around either one of them. I'm really jealous of that Klein. Nowi and Hector are also great units. If you've used up the entirety of your F2P orbs (and you've been playing from release) it's pretty shitty luck just by sheer number of five stars, but in terms of quality you've got fantastic units. Get a solid red (Tharja, Lucina, Y.Tiki, Xander etc...) and you're good to go.

There's no good reason you shouldn't have an Olivia at 4 stars though.

Only whales can pull out armor teams, and even then, they'll still be mediocre on defense.
The only armor you should keep is Hector. Effie is great, but on defense, three slow fucks will make it too easy for the enemy team to kill your units one by one without anyone in the way and you're already stuck with Zephiel for bonus unit.
One way to make them work is to give them teleport skills (Wings of Mercy, Escape Route), that should take at least someone by surprise.

Replacing your Klein with Azura will help their mobility as well, but she might end up rushing in and get herself killed before she ever dances, we can't know for sure.

If your Titania is good enough, you can scrap Zephieland keep Hector and Azura. The last unit can be one of your reds to fill the gap.

Remember that how your team order matters. Keep Azura next to Hector to make he keeps up with your other units.

Merging just gives SP unless you're at the same rarity. A 5 star Nino would need other 5 star Ninos to get to +1. There is value in teaching skills to your 4 stars and then merging those into the 5 star to save some time grinding for SP, but it's not a huge deal.
