They aren't at odds. A lot of significant people at Nintendo own a Playstation console and vice versa. No I just stop buying Nintendo systems because they stop making mainline Metroid games. Each company except Sony had something that made me buy their systems. I used to buy Sega consoles for Sonic, Nintendo consoles for 2D Metroid, Microsoft consoles for Halo. When Sega consoles died along with Sonic, I moved on to Microsoft, while I stayed with Nintendo. Metroid Dread was supposed to come out for the DS but it never did, so I didn't buy a DS, I expected Metroid Dread to come to the 3DS especially after what Takahashi said in 2014 about traditional and Prime style Metroid games, then in 2015 they announce another Prime game for the 3DS.
