Objectively wrong and that's the main example of what I'm talking about.
The bat gives you unlimited horizontal flight. This trivialises a massive amount of the game afterwards because there is no reason why you can't just use that to get past most platforming challenges. The desert level has a good quarter of the level you can just float past as the bat, the carpet race you can bypass most of it and the spooky mansion is fucking abysmal because you can just float over the entire second half of the level.
Anytime there is a horizontal platforming challenge in the game, you either bypass it easily thanks to the bat or you artificially restrict yourself from using a major mechanic in the game.
