Depends on your playstyle.

I personally have a MCH, it requires you to handle cooldowns correctly for Wildfire and a lot of praying to God about proccs when you're out of ammo and are fishing for slug and cleaner shot. I find it fun as hell, though your mileage may vary.

Just remember to get all the cross-class skills. Blood for Blood is a fucking requirement on MCH, just like most other classes. Same goes for Hawk Eye. They are extremely important for your Wildfire DPS.

I'm the guy who asked. WAR main. If you're running with pugs, the biggest issue is probably cooldown rotation. Do you typically pull? Is the first tether skipped? I'll always holmgang that for the swap and just spam eye, for example, to give you more breathing room later. If adds are your issue, well, using a PLD or DRK invuln is typically the superoir choice anyway since getting vuln on them is mandatory.

Don't gather for the Single Charge; it'll hurt, but the add barely does. One tetra and the damage you take from the Single Charge will be made up for. It's more important that the add's cleave is far and away anyways. If you have a NIN, shadewalker should be back up around that time too if you still need more.

Honestly, WHM faces a similar problem most pureblood healers do. Classes with utility will just take over because they offer utility, and if you buff the pure healer's throughput you risk making the other healers too shit.

I really want to try to be a tank, but pugs are really annoying me.

I start off all my runs with saying I'm new to tanking so just let me know if I should do anything differently.

Remember: Everyone in this game is bad. That's seriously the springboard by which you need to approach content in this game.

That being said, letting the tank control the pace of a dungeon run is part of proper team play. DPS who are pulling mobs for you are being bad by putting excess and unneeded stress on multiple players who are ON THEIR TEAM and don't seem to realize that.

That said, get used to pre-empting this. Pull as much as you can and learn to rotate your CDs intelligently. The sooner you use something, the sooner it's back up later. You do set the pace, but get used to setting the pace to more than you think you can handle - then you'll realize you could handle it all along.

And fucking upgrade your weapon first if you don't already. Too many new tanks prioritize their armor instead.

Okay well the problem with that is that SCH's deploy off WAR, especially when it crits, already lets you basically not worry about certain mechanics randomly killing people (towers in Nidhogg EX, some parts of Brute Justice intermissions), if you add stoneskin on top of that, and if by some miracle you can also stack PLD's shield on top of this... You'll basically go to double HP on everybody. This is difficult to balance against because you can't make mechanics hit for that much or this trick would be required.

Maybe there's other ways to buff WHM, like letting them cast some spells on the run so they can do mechanics while healing? That'd be a unique strength.

Seems like too big of a what-if though. You rarely use cure2 anyways outside of cure 1 proccing it, so the chances of getting a cure 3 proc are even lower. You just approach AST levels of card RNG frustration with this.

Back when people were 230 I used to deploy adlo before the tower-tether phase in Nidhogg so nobody would die from Super Jump by taking too much damage. In a difficult raid like A8S this would help dealing with large incoming damage by insuring nobody will die from randomly standing 5 cm off. In A4S it would let you not worry about nisi ticks coupling with Mortal Revolution. Of course we're unlikely to get such raids ever again.

I hope the job quests give us 2 traits and 3 new actions, they could add some really fun traits if they wanted to.

Such as giving MNK chakra stacks after completing a combo, which could allow for a SS focused melee class and solve TP issues in the process. They could add onto it by adding more chakra abilities, like a GL4 you have to consume stacks to activate but would be a powerful buff that makes tornado kick free in addition to other shit.

If I have 14 chakras, why can I only get 5 stacks? Storing stacks to dump into internal release window with forbidden chakra spam would be fun as fuck.
