Gameplay is an elusive concept which means different things for different folks.

If you were to say game DESIGN, then yes. BotW is an absolute masterclass in game design and what Nintendo achieved, on the tech they used, is absolutely miraculous.

Of course, the salty clueless kiddies of /v/, who understand nothing about game design, will be along soon to tell you how wrong you would be. But it won't stop BotW from deservedly running away with every major award this year.
