Bollocks. Animation wasn't paying him anything when he started on Newgrounds, but he still did it.

The simple fact is that Egoraptor's animations weren't really all that good. He got all his fame and cred as an animator simply by being one of the first on the scene when flash animation became a "thing". If you go back and rewatch his work, it's not impressive. Many, many more internet animators have sprung up since who are much better than him. All you have to do is watch all the Game Grumps Animated videos on his channel that are animated by guest animators that no one has ever heard of, and who will only get a few thousand views on their original videos. The vast majority are better than Arin ever was.

And I think that Arin knows this. He knows that he's just not that special anymore; that if he were to upload a video under a different name, no one would care. So he sticks to the one thing he knows he's good at, which is making dick jokes while playing video games.
