I used to have a channel, did around 50 videos before I lost interest. It was fun to do, but all the work put into it was making me ignore games I actually wanted to play, so eh. I also have a shit mic and don't really want to spend money on that.

I do want to do something on Youtube, but not sure how relevant it would be: videos showing the "(d)evolution" of franchises, like all the Street Fighter/Castlevania/Mega Man games - or something like that.

As far as I can tell, there's one kinda big channel that does that (if you type in "franchise" Evolution you'll find him, but don't give that fag any views) but it's so hilariously bad edited, no quality check on the gameplay he uses and also manages to fuck up and miss games every single video. It is boring content, so I was thinking of maybe commenting over it, but the quality of my mic + people maybe not wanting to hear someone's thoughts on whatever may detract from it all.

What do you guys think? Should I even bother?

Before I started a channel I would always get irrationally upset at seeing these threads, and I would just scroll past them as fast as possible. I felt like a failure all the time so it would just make me upset, that's human nature I think, jealousy. Now that I have one and I pay attention I see how people that are weak-willed react to them, instead of ignoring it they come in and shit on everything. I got a dislike not even a minute after I posted. It makes me feel absolutely disgusted about myself and the way I view shit like this.

Maybe try some constructive criticism to help others improve? Idk it's so silly.

One thing though, if YouTube is a thing you're going to pursue, be prepared to face criticism. I'm just using making videos as an excuse to play through games I used to love and try new games I've not played to try and rediscover what I loved about playing games.

I'm trying to be positive, I've got a good mic and I won't ever show my face. Also some side videos with camera footage of events and interesting paraphernalia on the side.
