Final dungeon would a plausible place but the game tells me I can't get from there after going in. If I can't come back I can't go to Star Door 14 which needs other doors open.

So... what exactly is supposedly making Crossbell so difficult to localize? It can't be licensing costs when it doesn't feature voice acting, and it sure as fuck can't be employee wages. Now that they're even paying for outsourced porting, there should be nothing preventing them from seeking the license, especially when NISA is aggressively going after Falcom as well.

Why do people think NIS is going to take Trails from XSeed? The script is gigantic and they'd need that Kiseki bible XSeed made for things to be synonymous with the rest of the series. Like if they were for instance to to have Enforcers be called Legion instead. It'd be such a huge mess that unless they work with XSeed it's going to end badly for them.

That's a straight up translation error, not an inconsistency between games. Also, the only reason the name was retroactively changed in previous games is because XSEED actually cares. Falcom likely couldn't care less as long as their games are available for sale in the west.

Unlike with Zero, Falcom never backported the original Japanese script into Joyoland's Chinese PC port of Ao. That means there's currently no version of Ao that XSEED can work on, and there's no point localising Zero if you can't localise Ao afterwards.

Sen and Tokyo Xanadu use PhyreEngine, which makes PC porting super easy. Zero and Ao were made with Falcom's internal engine.

It literally doesn't matter. For example, one guy ported Tales of Symphonia to PC with minimal effort. It turned out shit, then ONE guy fixed it in a day with 3rd party software. You're greatly overestimating the difficulty of porting a video game. A modern game that requires optimization, that's a different matter entirely. Also, the Chinese assets you speak of were likely provided to them by Falcom. You see, textures and artwork is generally made at a much higher resolution than what is in the final product, for performance reasons. Falcom likely has these assets, just like the ones provided for the western PC releases of Sora.

XSEED went all in before Akiba's Beat released in Japan, thinking it'd sell even better than the previous game. It didn't. Not even close.

XSEED are probably shitting themselves right now. Crossbell will never happen because Akiba's Beat will bankrupt them.

I mean, from a lore standpoint it sort of makes sense, The enemies are based off of things that the characters know, and because of how Phantasma works that familiarity probably makes them more accurate copies. Which is why chapter six had you bring people familiar with all of the boss fights and their styles. I'd still prefer it if they just made up some extra devils or something though.

Dude you've got it completely backwards, Estelle and Joshua's love story is by far the most blatant love story in the entire franchise, and precisely because they didn't gun for the which grill wud u fug xDD angle. The plot is written around their relationship and the most iconic scene in Sky is Estelle blowing away Joshua's angst with pure love, unlike in Cold Steel where romance moments are interchangeable and not smoothly woven into the story. Why did they keep giving Kevin S-crafts that just can't match up to Grail Sphere? I'm almost certain I wouldn't have beaten the last boss if I'd been using Spear of Whatsit.

Just finished FC and boy was it mediocre but I'm playing SC right now and it's pretty great. My only complaint is Estelle but the other characters make up for her. I'll probably like Zero and Cold Steel better if their main characters aren't annoying

Genuinely can't tell anymore if anons are trolling for lolz or if they're trying to convince regulars that XSEED can go bankrupt from one game with a somewhat larger budget than usual. They make more than enough money from PC sales, and games from 2015 and 2016, to get by. Some people are still gonna get the LE and Akiba's Trip will still sell well, and XSEED has maybe 15 people compared to a lot more at NISA.

What's happened is there's actual competition for Falcom games now, so it's a matter of if, not when, for Zero and Ao, and I'm expecting new PC ports which Sara and/or a port team will do. The actual localization takes considerably less time than it used to for XSEED, but other companies might have trouble adapting to Kiseki script sizes w/o making sacrifices. I even think XSEED would do a simultaneous PC release of Sen III if the PC ports do well enough—easier to get that prepared than nab the script from Falcom before launch.

He probably got carried away when he fused with the Aureole and all his sadistic theatrics. He probably fucked up somewhere, and got killed for it, so it's not their problem. Not like they could save him anyway, he was already beat and Kevin ambushed him, and Campanella states very clearly he's only there to watch over the events, probably only interfere when necessary. Weissman was an unstable sadist, so he probably saw no reason to stop it.
